At least 10 people have been killed, dozens injured and hundreds of homes and buildings damaged by a 7.9 magnitude earthquake which hit Sumatra yesterday, prompting a tsunami warning. The tremor was felt in neighbouring Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, and triggered panic as far as East Africa. Powerful aftershocks have continued to hit Sumatra today.
