As the security situation continues to improve in Baghdad, some of the Iraqi women have started not to dress in Islamic veils, which some of them were threatened and intimidated by extremist Islamist groups to wear. According to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, 75 percent of the Sunni al-Qaeda networks and 70 percent of their activities have been eliminated.
