A ship breaker pauses while working on dislodging sheets of metal from a ship that is being dismantled for scrap July 24, 2008 in the port city of Chittagong, Bangladesh. The tightly policed ship yards employ thousands of workers who make little more than two dollars a day in work that is both dangerous and heavily toxic. Over 90% of the world?s ocean going container ships ends their life on the shores of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Bangladesh is currently one of the world's poorest countries, where nearly 40 percent of the 144 million population survive on less than a dollar a day and on average spend eighty percent of their income on food.
